We are indebted to our volunteers here at Sight Concern Bedfordshire. Without
Volunteers we could not offer the wide variety of services to blind and partially
sighted people which we do.
Volunteers assist in a variety of ways:
- Assisting the Optometrist at the Low-Vision Clinic and providing information
and a first point of contact at the eye-clinics at both Bedford and Luton
and Dunstable Hospitals.
- Help to produce the Talking Newspaper in Luton.
- Run several social clubs throughout the county.
- Fundraise in a variety of ways.
- Assist in our offices, by word processing, preparing, collating and mailing
the quarterly newsletter, answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries,
taping local and national publications.
- Read mail, visit people at home, take out equipment, assist with form filling
and contact members regularly by telephone.
- Assist in the resource centre and the drop in centre.
- Visit newly registered people in their own home.
If you would like to find out more about any of the services mentioned above contact
Wendie at the Bedford
office or Teresa in
Luton.
