Annual Marston Vale Walk
The North Beds Ramblers Group extended their generosity again and paid for transport to Marston Vale Country Park for a group of keen visually impaired walkers from Bedford. Sight Concern Bedfordshire organised the walk and the North Beds Ramblers organised the minibus. A good partnership.
On the hottest day of the year we set out, luckily avoiding the midday sun by walking in the morning. We were a mixed group of visually impaired people, relatives, volunteer guides from Sight Concern and the ramblers group.
Everyone went their own way: some up to the cool viewing point by the wind turbine where the blades created a breeze or for a fast walk around Stewartby lake or a potter round the sensory garden.
We met back for a leisurely lunch with lots of chat at Marston Vale centre café. Thanks to the North Beds Ramblers group for providing free transport and to our volunteer guides and drivers who made it all possible.
